Harmony Tan Leaves Doubles Partner High And Dry After Beating Serena Williams At Wimbledon

Women’s tennis player Harmony Tan was able to beat the GOAT, Serena Williams, on Tuesday. And apparently, the match took too much out of her, and she wasn’t allowed to fulfill her doubles obligation today.

Earlier today, Tan’s would-be doubles partner, Tamara Korpatsch, admitted she was “very angry” at how she was treated by Tan.

“She just texted me this morning,” Tamara Korpatsch, wrote on social media. “Let me wait here [one] hour before the match start. I’m very sad, disappointed and also very angry that I can’t play my 1st Doubles Grand Slam. And It’s really not fair for me.”

Unlike Harmony Tan,Tamara Korpatsch lost her first round match at Wimbledon, and was looking forward to making her doubles debut at a grand slam.

“I didn’t deserve that,” Korpatsch continued. “She asked me before the tournament if we wanna play doubles and I said yes, I didn’t ask her, she asked me! If you’re broken after a 3 [hour] match the day before, you can’t play professional. That’s my opinion.”

Korpatsch also doesn’t think the long match against Serena Williams is a valid excuse for Harmony Tan.

“Sorry, but I’ve played 6:33 [hours] in one day and played a singles match the next day,” she wrote in her Instagram story.
