Zach Ertz Reportedly Wants Out Of Philadelphia As Well

The Philadelphia Eagles might have a problem on their hands. They have been trying to find a trade partner for Carson Wentz for the past two weeks. While the asking price for the QB remains much higher than any team is willing to go, they could have another issue. Zach Ertz reportedly wants out of Philly too.

According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Zach Ertz is also looking for a change.

“As the Carson Wentz trade saga continues, some people around the league also expect the Eagles to explore options with Zach Ertz, who is bracing for a change of scenery via release or trade, per source. Perhaps Philly could include him in a Wentz trade package to maximize value,” Fowler tweeted out Saturday afternoon.

Of course adding Ertz to a Wentz deal would maximize the value in a return. However, I’m not sure the teams in the mix for Wentz also have a need at tight end. The Bears and Colts are favored to land Wentz, and both of those teams aren’t actively looking to upgrade at the tight end position.

With that being said, Ertz is one of the best tight ends in the game. Even if you don’t have a “need” at tight end, Ertz will fit into your offense.

How about what’s happening in Philly, though? To think they’d go from winning a Super Bowl to being a spot where nobody wants to be just four years later. Things happen quick in the NFL.

It’ll be interesting to see if Zach Ertz’s name continues to come up in trade talks.
