On Thursday, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke on the Trevor Bauer allegations. He also revealed that Bauer was going to make his scheduled start this Sunday.

“As of now, we’re kind of in the middle of letting the commissioner’s office, Major League Baseball, handle this,” Roberts said from D.C. on Thursday to ESPN. “It’s in their hands right now, and right now, our direction was to just move forward and not do anything as far as the player or Trevor, so our plan is he is gonna start on Sunday.”

According to the lawsuit, Trevor Bauer engaged in rough sex with the woman suing the pitcher. During the encounter, she alleged that Bauer repeatedly struck her in the face, and choked her unconscious at one point.

Trevor Bauer has yet to speak on the allegations, but his lawyer sent out a statement claiming that everything between Bauer and the accuser was completely consensual.

When pressed on the issue, Dave Roberts claimed that any decision on Bauer would have to come from the MLB.

“I’m in the position of following the lead of Major League Baseball. Their recommendation was for us to use our scheduled Sunday starter and to move forward and have him start that game on Sunday. For me to try to read into it any more outside of just following what they had advised me and us to do — I just choose to follow kind of their lead.”
