Saints Have Reportedly Chosen Taysom Hill at QB over Jameis Winston

Talk about a misdirection play. Sean Payton is finally ready to give a test-drive to Taysom Hill as starting quarterback Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Saints are expected to start Taysom Hill on Sunday after giving him starter reps in practice this week.

Intrigue in New Orleans: The #Saints have given QB Taysom Hill starter reps in practice this week, source said. So while Jameis Winston took over for injured Drew Brees last week, signs are pointing towards Hill getting his first NFL start at QB if all checks out after practice.

NFL insider Adam Schefter also confirmed Hill as the starter:

Saints’ QB Taysom Hill will start Sunday vs. the Falcons, per source. Hill took all the starter reps at practice this week. Jameis Winston will be the backup.

Jameis Winston took over for Drew Brees last week after he suffered cracked ribs and a lung issue after a big hit. That pretty much have everyone thinking Jameis would take over as the starter now that Brees is out at least for a few weeks. But knowing Sean Payton, expect him to mix in Jameis.

Hill has completed 4 of 5 pass attempts this season for 86 yards and earned 34 carries, for 186 rush yards, 1 TD. He also has six receptions for 74 yards and another score.

Looks like Jameis might not get a chance to eat a W as a starter.
