Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera went against the recent trend when he jokingly made it clear that he doesn’t have to be called “coach” by reporters.
After Deion Sanders went on a whole tirade against a reporter who called him by his first name, New York Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett also corrected a reporter who had the gall to refer to him by his first name.

On Sunday, Ron Rivera had a little fun at Jason Garrett’s expense.
At the end of his press conference, a reported politely said “thank you, Ron” to which he replied with a big smile “oh, it’s coach” before winking and adding, ““Just kidding.”
Ron Rivera ended his presser and some reporters said, "Thank you, Ron."
He turned around with a wide smile and said: "Oh, it's coach." Then he winked and walked off. "Just kidding," he said.
