Rob Manfred Condemns Justin Turner For Breaking COVID-19 Protocol

At this point, we’re all familiar with the Justin Turner story. The star third baseman for the Dodgers got a positive COVID-19 test back in the middle of last night’s World Series clinching Game 6. He left the game, only to return for the Dodgers celebration.

Many people (myself included) were wondering where was commissioner Rob Manfred in this mess?

Well, apparently Turner went against authority and entered the field on his own. Manfred isn’t pleased.

Here was MLB’s statement on the Justin Turner situation.

This whole thing is a bad look for Justin Turner. It’s a bad look for Rob Manfred. It’s a bad look for Major League Baseball. Having someone with COVID-19 hugging teammates and posing with the trophy is just un-fucking-believable. Where is the leadership in this sport?

And I get it. Justin Turner has been waiting a long time for this moment, but there needs to be some repercussions here. You simply can’t take this virus lightly, and doing it in front of millions of Americans watching, can’t happen. Be better
