Miami Had An Extremely Bizarre Media Request Prior To Mario Cristobal’s Introductory Presser

The Miami Hurricanes got their guy with Mario Cristobal. But it didn’t come without controversy.

According to a report, Miami has been in contact with Cristobal for a few months. And were well-aware that he was interested in the job.

But when speaking with reporters after the move, Cristobal was adamant that he never talked to anyone from Miami until after his Oregon team lost to Utah in the Pac 12 Championship.

Still, Miami didn’t want to deal with he potential repercussions, so they told media members not to ask Mario Cristobal about the hiring process during his introductory press conference on Tuesday morning.

Fans were immediately skeptical of Miami’s bizarre tactic with Mario Cristobal.

During his press conference, Mario Cristobal spoke on how much is meant to him to go back home to “The U”.

“You brought me home. … I feel more driven, more motivated than ever. I can’t wait to get to work,” he said. “When The U is on and The U brings it, there’s nothing like it.”

Even if something shady went down during the hiring process of Mario Cristobal, we might just have to settle for never knowing. As far as football goes, the coach has his work cut out for him to awaken a dormant program.
