Le’Veon Bell Asked Clyde Edwards-Helaire before Joining The Chiefs

I never though I’d see the day where Le’Veon Bell looks like a class act, but here we are. According to Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy, Bell reached out to rookie running back Clyde Edwards Helaire before joining the Chiefs.

“Le’Veon (Bell) reached out to Clyde (Edwards-Helaire) and had a conversation with him,” Bieniemy said via Kansas City Star. “And (Le’Veon) told him basically, ‘I don’t want to step on your toes, I want to know if you’re OK with me coming in here.’ He’s a classy individual. It says a lot about the person, who does not want to come up and disrupt the chemistry that we have.”

Running backs coach Deland McCullough also spoke about the conversation between Le’veon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to NBC Sports.

“I know the conversation that I had with him, prior to him making his final decision, I was very impressed, just with some of his goals and different things like that” running backs coach Deland McCullough said. “They meld into what we want to get done here, and there was no level of selfishness or anything that I heard. He said, ‘Look, I’m coming in to get in where I fit in. I can help, and I know you guys will use me the right way, and whatever that is, I’m going to do [it].’”

it certainly seems like everyone involved is still very much in the honeymoon stage after Le’veon Bell’s arrival. We’ll see if it can last.

That is one talented backfield, that’s for sure.
