John Harbaugh Responds To Rumors Of Jim Harbaugh Joining Vikings

Is Jim Harbaugh making his return to the NFL?

It was reported on Tuesday that the Michigan Wolverines head coach had an interview with Minnesota today. But that a deal was basically already in place for him to replace Mike Zimmer as their next head coach.

On Wednesday, John Harbaugh spoke on the rumors that his brother, Jim Harbaugh, was set to become the next coach of the Vikings.

“If the Minnesota Vikings are smart enough to hire him, it would be a wise choice,” Harbaugh said, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

Jim Harbaugh was 44-19-1 during his time as an NFL head coach. And in 2021, Harbaugh’s Wolverines on their first game over rival Ohio State during his tenure — securing a trip to the College Football Playoffs.

Based on John Harbaugh’s comment, he might not know if his brother would pounce at an opportunity to get back into the NFL right now. But he’s probably just playing dumb.

All indications are that Jim Harbaugh wants the Vikings job. And it’s starting to seem like he’ll be offered any moment now.
