Joey Chestnut Breaks His Own Record As ESPN Stream Malfunctions

Are you even American if you don’t watch the Joey Chestnut crush hot dogs at the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest?

Chestnut set a new record last year eating 75 hot dogs in just 10 minutes. This year he looked focused and ready to break his own record; which he did!

The man is an absolute legend in the game and seems quite impossible to beat. While Joey Chestnut finished 76 hot dogs and buns, his next closest competitor was Geoffrey Esper, who managed to consume 50 hot dogs and buns.

Another story line from the day was ESPN’s coverage of the event.

While Chestnut was nearing his record, the broadcast seemingly cut out.

For some context, Chestnut’s amazing “meal” amounted to 22,800 calories, 1,368 grams of fat, 1,824 grams of carbs and 836 grams of protein. That’s about 11 days and a bit of food for someone! Wild!
