J. Cole made headlines when it was announced he was joining the African Basketball League. The rapper turned hooper was trying to play in the NBA, but that wasn’t going to happen. Instead he opted for the startup African Basketball League. Some stars of the league weren’t necessarily happy about him taking someone else’s roster spot.

Cole reportedly has left the squad to deal with some family issues.
