The NBA is in the business of making money, and the TV contracts bring in a ton of revenue for the Association. Ideally the NBA would like each playoff series to go the full length. More nationally televised games, more money for the NBA. The NBA/ABC must be very happy about that Giannis block, which pretty much sealed the win for the Bucks, and also sealed a few more games on National TV.

Now it’s being reported that block may be worth a lot of money for ABC.
Via Sportico:
“According to Standard Media Index data, ABC booked $250.7 million in ad sales during the Raptors-Warriors sextet in 2019, a benchmark that appears to be within reach this time around. The cost of 30 seconds of in-game airtime is up near $600,000 a pop at the high end, and given the inevitable rate increases that accompany the higher ratings of a sixth game, the network is now playing with house money.”
Something tells me this series is going 7 https://t.co/Zrrnz5niBr

This could help explain the questionable calls from refs on both sides of the ball.
Clearly the NBA has a rooted interest in this NBA Finals going the distance.
