Ex-MLB Pitcher C.J. Nitkowski’s Wife Has Hilarious Way of Consoling Son on Rough Pitching Outing

You don’t know C.J. Nitkowski? He easily could have been included in my “Most Random MLB Players of the Late ’90s/Early ’00s” article, but alas, he didn’t quite make the cut. Nitkowski was a left-handed pitcher with a career ERA of 5.37 for a whole bunch of MLB teams. From 1995-2005, Nitkowski pitched for the Reds, Tigers, Astros, Tigers again, Mets, Rangers, Braves, Yankees and Nationals. Following 2005, Nitkowski made his way overseas for a little playing for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan for a couple seasons and then for three different teams in our favorite league, the KBO in South Korea.

If you have heard of Nitkowski, then it’s probably because you’ve seen him or heard him on TV or radio. He’s the Texas Rangers TV broadcaster and he also does some radio for MLB Network along with appearances on FS1’s coverage of Major League Baseball.

While the big-leaguers have yet to take the field in 2020, the little-leaguers have figured out a way to play and unfortunately, Nitkowski’s son had a rough pitching outing. Fortunately for us, though, C.J. shared on Twitter how his wife was able to comfort their son during this trying time:

And that right there is an all-time baseball wife zinger.

Nitkowski ended his MLB career with a record of 18-32. He accumulated 347 strikeouts, three saves, 20 wild pitches and seven balks.
