Will Cain was on ESPN for several years before leaving for greener pastures. For him greener pastures meant taking his talents to Fox News, where he could freely discuss politics without any backlash. The Mothership was being criticized for several years for being too political for a sports network. They eventually made a mandate for their on air personalities not to discuss politics.
Now that ESPNÂ is done with Will Cain, that doesn’t mean they’re not still being criticized for employing him. Cain recently endorsed President Donald Trump’s repeatedly disproven claim of voter fraud. The online follow up to Cain’s comments quickly turned into ESPN getting slammed.
See his take below:
Will Cain endorses Trump's attempts to steal the election: "It is absolutely unprecedented what happened in this election. … There may not be enough evidence for a court system, but there should be enough evidence for state legislators to change their electors." pic.twitter.com/NvuCBdWv8Q

Twitter immediately did its thing, calling ESPN to the carpet for ever employing Cain:
Will Cain's trash, always been trash and we didn't press ESPN enough for keeping that empty-suit racist on their airwaves FOR YEARS https://t.co/x8RChCO269

In hindsight, ESPN choosing to keep Will Cain over Jemele Hill somehow looks EVEN worse

Briefly overlapped with this bumpkin @willcain and each time I saw him I was genuinely surprised he had remembered how to get to the office. https://t.co/5avenpG3uk

This is your reminder that Jemele Hill was forced to resign, but Will Cain had a show for years on ESPN.

Definitely still a bad look for ESPN.
Looks like Fox News is right where Will Cain wants to be.
