UFC Fighter Dan Hooker Makes Visa Plea To US Ambassador Prior To UFC 266

UFC star lightweight Dan Hooker is scheduled to fight at UFC 266 next weekend in Las Vegas. But due to a work visa issue, Hooker is pulling out all the stops in order to make the matchup possible.

Hooker recently learned that his work visa from New Zealand will not be ready until next week, which would likely make his unavailable for the event.

In a desperate plea, Dan Hooker took to social media to share a message to US Ambassador Kevin Covert for help.

“@USAmbNZ Hi Kevin, apologies for messaging on here but it’s a last resort,” Hooker said on Twitter. “My visa is with the US embassy here in NZ as I fight next week in Las Vegas on #UFC266 Update today is it won’t be approved until next week due to lock down which will cancel my fight. Please help.”

Dan Hooker is coming off a knockout loss to Michael Chandler, and was looking to get back on track before making a run at a belt.

But after the work visa issue, Hooker’s redemption may have to be delayed.

I think it’s safe to say that we all hope Dan Hooker receives the help he needs from the US embassy in order to make it for the fight during UFC 266.
