Dallas Cowboys Explain Decision To Keep Dak Prescott Out Of 2021 Hype Video

Are the Dallas Cowboys planning on moving on from quarterback Dak Prescott next season?

After the Super Bowl, the Cowboys’ Twitter account released a hype video for the 2021 season. The issue? There was not one shot of Dak Prescott in the video.

This left many Cowboys fans scared out of their minds. We saw what the Cowboys were this season without Dak Prescott, and it wasn’t very good. After Prescott went down with an ankle injury, the team struggled to move the ball, and ended up missing out on the playoffs despite lofty preseason expectations.

While many fans saw Dak Prescott’s absence from the 2021 hype video as some sort of sign of things to come, the organization says the video was meaningless.

“This was simply an oversight that should have been caught and corrected by us. Anyone who’s making it seem like Cowboys’ decision makers use social media videos to make statements doesn’t understand or take the time to understand how it all works. Trust me, there’s no story here,” the team’s senior director of media & programming, Derek Eagleton, tweeted.

After negotiations with Dak Prescott stalled last season, the team opted to place the franchise tag on their star QB. They’re faced with a similar dilemma for this season. Prescott’s price has not dropped, and Jerry Jones is still reluctant to make Prescott one of the highest paid players in the league.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Cowboys end up placing the franchise tag on Dak Prescott, yet again.
