Conor McGregor Gives His Prediction For Dustin Poirier Fight

Conor McGregor will finally make his return to the octagon tonight.

After a 12 month absence, McGregor will take his talents to fight island to take on Dustin Poirier in a lightweight fight. Last time Conor McGregor fought, he took care of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone via first round TKO. He’s expecting that he’ll be able to finish Poirier in similar fashion.

“I like Dustin,” the 32-year-old said via Insider. “I think he’s a good fighter. He’s even a great fighter. But great is still levels below me.

“I’ll knock Dustin out inside 60 seconds.”

Conor McGregor never lacks confidence, that’s for sure.

This isn’t the first time McGregor has faced off against Dustin Poirier. In 2014, when the two were featherweights, they squared off. In that fight McGregor controlled the octagon, and put Poirier away with a series of punches inside of 100 seconds.

We’ll see if history can repeat itself tonight.

The entire sports world will be watching to see what McGregor has in store for us tonight. As for what he’s planning for the future? McGregor says he still has plenty of fights left in the tank. Many are predicting that if Conor wins, Khabib Nurmagomedov may come out of retirement for a rematch bout. McGregor spoke about the possibility of getting his revenge on Khabib.

“I don’t really care,” McGregor said about Nurmagomedov during the UFC 257 pre-fight press conference. “He did not say that, Dana said that. Let’s just get through the fight. All these men are up here, there’s plenty of challenges. It’s a tough business. Things have gone on in his personal life, I don’t wish him any harm. Like I said, it was in 2018, a lot of time has passed.

Conor McGregor has his sights set on Dustin Poirier. It should be quite the show.
