The details of Colt Brennan’s death were not immediately released. But now, Brennan’s father is breaking his silence. Brennan was found unconscious several days ago, and officially passed away on Monday.

“He was doing so well, the spark was back in his eyes, and he was healthy and doing great, and it happened,” Terry Brennan told Star Adviser.

Brennan’s dad was understandably distraught, and admitted that he couldn’t fully explain what happened to his son at this very moment.

“He had been doing really (well),” Brennan said. “These guys were no-nonsense guys. It just got away from him. I don’t know how else to explain it. Maybe one day I’ll be able to explain it better.”

Terry Brennan also revealed that when Colt passed away, he went ‘peacefully’, and was surrounded by his family.

“He went peacefully,” Terry Brennan said. “He listened to Bob Marley. His sisters had a lei around him when he was unconscious. They had the music of Bob Marley playing near his ear.”

Colt Brennan remains the FBS leader in career completion percentage, and his 2006 season will always be remembered as one of the greatest in college football history.

RIP to Colt Brennan. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
