Cam Newton Has Clearly Already Taken Some Lessons From Coach Bill Belichick On The Patriot Way

The wait is over. Cam Newton has officially landed in New England. The quarterback was spotted at Logan Airport Wednesday night, arriving just days ahead of the start of training camp. The 31-year-old quarterback has already connected with several of his new teammates ahead of training camp, including WRs Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sanu. Cam was quoted saying that he is “ecstatic” about his new opportunity but refused to say much else at the time.

Cam Newton recently signed a one-year incentive deal with the New England Patriots for the upcoming season. However, being a Patriot comes with a price. One doesn’t simply earn a deal with the New England Patriots without being educated on the Patriot way. It was very evident in the Channel7 interview that Belichick has already given Cam a few classes.

Many fans, reporters, and even people around the NFL have not taken very well to the Patriot way of doing things. It includes bending league regulations (some refer to this as cheating), signing star players, like Cam, for low-value deals and finding loopholes in rules. It’s a very strict and unique way of doing things and it is a written letter of the law in the organization. And it has proven to be a very successful way of doing things.

Personally, I don’t mind the Patriot way of doing things when it comes to the media. How much could Cam possibly have to say at this point? He literally just landed in Boston on Wednesday. Although, it’s always very ironic and quite comical when people say “I’m not going to say anything”. Cam had no obligation to speak to Channel7. If I were him, I would have just kept on walking. Mask up; head down.
