Baltimore Newspaper Changes Headline About Robert Kraft That Had A Delightful Hidden Joke About His Love Of Sex Spas

Here’s what the Baltimore Sun headline that previously read “Robert Kraft sees happy ending for the NFL” was adjusted to:

Certainly a very reasonable headline if it were on the article initially. But after the headline was changed, I definitely wonder where the disconnect was. Did a copy editor or writer along the way go rogue?

Or was it actually someone who legitimately didn’t think “Ah yes, let’s give this nice article about an NFL owner who’s been accused of getting handy Js at spas before the AFC Championship game a headline with a common phrase about that experience”? Because I could definitely see some naive older gal or completely careless guy letting that one slip before IMMEDIATELY hearing it from Twitter.

The fact they changed it at all would make me think it’s the latter, which would be funny. Less funny if they fired someone over it.

But still, a bit of a disappointing move by the Baltimore Sun. We all know about the hate the Patriots and Ravens have had in their hearts for each other. It’s been a blood feud in the AFC for pretty much all of the 2000s for whichever Ravens squad went up against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. I’m sure all the Baltimore fans who saw that headline loved the barb at a divisional rival. Maybe they would have even been more inclined to support local media if it echoed their thoughts like that.

The lesson is clear: local media is dying not because of the changing media landscape but rather because they’re too soft to allow petty paid handjob jokes about rival teams and their owners.
