Aubrey Huff Is Up to His Terrible Tricks Again

Just as we’ve seen players using their voices for good in recent days, we’ve also seen athletes using their platform in an extremely negative way.

Enter Aubrey Huff.

Every once in a while Huff will pop his head up out of the irrelevance of retired player life to share another one of his offensive views. Well, he wasn’t going to stand idly by and let the situation in Kenosha unfold without adding yet another one of his ridiculous comments.

This time, Huff had high praise for Kyle Rittenhouse. That’s right, the 17-year-old kid who was caught on films running through the Kenosha protests firing off an assault rifle. Huff tweeted out on Wednesday nigh that, “#KyleRittenhouse is a national treasure.”

Rittenhouse has been charged and held without bail for allegedly killing two people in his tirade from Tuesday night.

Time and time again Huff finds himself in the news for yet another dumbass thing he’s says or writes on his social media. His track record consists of refusing to wear a mask during a pandemic, speaking out against a woman MLB coach and now sticking up for a killer.

Huff has been consistently outspoken since his playing days. So much so, that he was not invited to the 10-year San Fransisco Giants World Series reunion in February. The team then called some of his views “unacceptable”.

At the time, Huff said to The Athletic, ““If it wasn’t for me, they wouldn’t be having a reunion,” “But if they want to stick with their politically correct, progressive bulls–t, that’s fine.”

Huff writes off any repercussions for his comments as “progressive bullshit”, but thats exactly where he’s missing the point. None of his comments are really even political, they’re just asinine. So while Aubrey may hide behind his right-wing views for his bullshit, I’m not buying it. It’s time for this dude to go away, he had his five seconds of fame.
