Artemi Panarin Is Back With The Rangers After Being Accused Of Assault By A Former KHL Coach

New York Rangers wing Artemi Panarin recently took a leave of absence after a Russian newspaper accused him of physically assaulting a female in 2011, when he was playing in the KHL.

The report comes after Panarin’s former KHL coach, Andrei Nazarov, claimed that he got into an altercation with an 18-year-old woman in Latvia in 2011. Nazarov said Panarin,”sent her to the floor with several powerful blows,” according to a translation provided to ESPN.

Nazarov had been critical of Panarin in the past for his willingness to speak out against Russia president Vladimir Putin. Because of the past, many believed that Nazarov ( and maybe even Putin himself) were constructing a plan to take down Artemi Panarin.

After some time away from the team, Artemi Panarin has returned to the New York Rangers. He seems to be in good spirits, too.

The Rangers will be happy to have Artemi Panarin back in their lineup. When he’s going strong, he’s one of the most dynamic scorers in the entire NHL.
