Angel Hernandez: national hero?
I doubt many MLB fans will go for that. But he actually had a pretty cool move on Thursday night.
It immediately went viral when a Giancarlo Stanton home run struck a young fan directly in the head in the latter innings of the game against the Twins.

By some miracle, Angel Hernandez spotted the kid who got struck with the Giancarlo Stanton home run.
The veteran umpire walked over to the young kid, and handed him a ball for his troubles.
Look, I don’t think we need to throw a parade for Angel Hernandez. He remains the worst home plate umpire I have ever seen in my entire life.
But let’s give credit where it’s due. This was a cool move by Angel, and the kid appeared to be happy.
Luckily, the young boy wasn’t hurt after getting struck with the Giancarlo Stanton home run, either.
