If Allen Iverson didn’t end up being the NBA All Star he was, he thinks he easily could have become a huge football star. While on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay, former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson talked about his days as a dominant high school football QB. Iverson confidently spoke about what could have been.
“Not being cocky, not being arrogant. I think, no, I know that I would have been a better player at football than I was at basketball. And that’s not disrespecting basketball gods, that’s not disrespecting the game that that’s done so much for me. I mean I’m a household name, I’m a Hall of Famer in that sport, but football was my first love,” Iverson admitted.
He then later backed it up with some highlights.
With the utmost respect & humbleness, it’s not a joke!!! @clubshayshay @espn

Hard to imagine AI would have been any better at football than he was at basketball.
But those highlights don’t lie.
Iverson didn’t have the weight to sustain a successful football career.
