Nike Reacts To Tiger Woods Wearing FootJoy Golf Shoes

Nike and Tiger Woods have been in business together for a very long time.

The first deal Tiger signed with Nike was worth $40 million for five years in 1996. According to the reports, Tiger’s next contract came in 2001, which was more than double his initial contract. This was said to be roughly worth $100 million with a similar five years span.

With The Masters later this week, Tiger was photographed during a practice round at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., on Sunday.

He was wearing Footjoy Golf shoes.

Nike responded to the picture of Tiger wearing Footjoys..

“Like golf fans around the world, we are delighted to see Tiger back on the course. He is an incredible athlete, and it is phenomenal to see him returning to the game at this level. His story continues to transcend sport and inspire us all. As he continues his return, we will work with him to meet his new needs,” Nike said in a statement.

Woods announced that he’s a “game-time” decision for the Masters, but his continued preparation with the tournament beginning later this week signals he should be able to give it a go.

Hopefully in Nikes.
