Updated Odds for Browns Versus Jaguars Following Confirmation Deshaun Watson Will be Starting

Deshaun Watson is suiting up!

Clemson University alumni, Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence, will face off for the first time in their professional careers tonight when Watson’s Cleveland Browns visit Lawrence’s Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1 of the NFL preseason. Cleveland has said he’ll start the game against the Jaguars in his first action as a Browns player ahead of his impending six-game regular season suspension for myriad sexual assault allegations. The Jaguars are also set to start Trevor Lawrence for a few series. The Browns are curently  listed at +1.5 Caesars Sportsbook.

For bettors, Deshaun Watson’s appearance in tonight’s preseason game, even for a limited amount of series, could have an impact on the outcome of the game. With some books it has already flipped the lines.

An extremely explosive player, Deshaun Watson led the NFL back in 2020 with 4,823 passing yards. Watson sat out the entire season last year as he was trying  to get the hell out  of Houston.

The game is being played TIAA Band Field in Jacksonville. Kickoff is all set for 7 p.m. ET tonight.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, an agreed resolution between the NFL and the NFL Players Association could still happen but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen before kickoff.  Last night, the Associated Press reported that Watson would be willing to serve an eight-suspension and pay a $5 million fine.
