Nebraska Cornhusker fans were already low of Scott Frost heading into the season opener against Northwestern today. But now, that has stooped to a whole another level.
Propelled by a head-scratching onside kick decision in the second half, Northwestern was able to use a lackluster Nebraska effort to defeat the Cornhuskers despite being heavy underdogs coming into the game.
After a long, time-killing drive proved to be the dagger for Frost’s squad, the Wildcats ended up pulling out the victory, winning 31-28 in a tight battle.
As soon as the final buzzer went, Scott Frost was getting absolutely massacred on social media.

I still can’t believe Nebraska did that onside kick. Give Scott Frost a little momentum and he says fuck it let’s go crazy

It feels like Scott Frost is finished at Nebraska. Brutal for Cornhusker fans. They traveled like crazy to Ireland for this. Tough to watch.

When up 28-24 in the second half of the game, Scott Frost made the ultimate questionable move when he called for his team to go with an onside kick.
After it was recovered by Northwestern, the Wildcats would go on to take advantage of the short field, scoring the go-ahead touchdown.
While getting all the shade for the decision on the web, Frost admitted that it probably wasn’t the best idea at the time.
“If I did it over, I wouldn’t make the call,” Frost told reporters, via Amie Just of HuskerExtra.
Earlier in the season, Scott Frost was also criticized for admitting that he was making offensive lineman throw up during practice ’15-20 times’.
“It’s not because they’re not in shape – he’s just working them hard,” Frost said, per the Omaha World-Herald. “I think they love it. He’s kind of freed them up to go be aggressive and I love the way they’re coming off the ball.”
Luckily for Nebraska fans (and the offensive lineman), it sure appears like Scott Frost’s days in Lincoln are numbered.
