LeGarrette Blount Slams Bo Nix After Georgia Blowout, Calls For Oregon to Start Ty Thompson

The start to the Oregon Ducks era couldn’t have gone any worse for transfer quarterback Bo Nix.

While facing off against a dominant Georgia Bulldogs defense on Saturday afternoon, Nix proved that ball security is still a major flaw in his game.

During the 49-3 los to Georgia, Nix was 21-37 for 173 yards and threw two ugly interceptions.

While Nix was being blasted by the Oregon fan base, former Ducks running back LeGarrette Blount chimed in on social media. Specifically, Blount is ready for the Ducks to turn the offense over to redshirt freshmen Ty Thompson.

“BO NIX GOTTA GO! PLAY TY THOMPSON!! HE’S WAITED HIS TURN, GIVE THE KID A CHANCE F**********CK!!!!” Blount said on social media.

After the game, Oregon head coach Dan Lanning kept it brief when standing by Nix as his starting quarterback.

“Bo’s our quarterback,” Lanning said via SI.

During his three year career as the starting quarterback at Auburn, Bo Nix showed some glimpses of promise, but never really had much success in the SEC.

Still, his ability to run the ball could pose a threat to a lesser defense than the Georgia unit he played on Saturday.

“Bo is a leader. I think if you go back and look at our offense, they really moved the ball well,” Lanning said. “We didn’t cap off our drives. Obviously, the turnovers are something we don’t want to have, but we moved the ball down the field at times. We just didn’t finish drives.”

While Lanning might be standing by Bo Nix for now, the calls for Ty Thompson will get louder and louder if the senior QB continues his struggles.
