Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler Tour Championship Odds: Two-Horse Race Emerges Following Friday’s Moves

Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler appear to be headed for a two-horse race as the PGA Tour Championship begins its third round following a Saturday weather delay.

At on point on Friday, it appeared that Scheffler was positioned to run away with the championship, but after Schauffele surged on the back 9, the betting odds indicate that this tourney will come down to the two rising stars.

Check out the full PGA Tour Championship odds, per DraftKings.

Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler Lead Favorites For Tour Championship:

  • Scottie Scheffler: -125
  • Xander Shauffele: +130
  • Jon Rahm: +1400
  • Patrick Cantlay: +2200
  • Rory McIlroy: +3500
  • Sungjae Im: +4500

After putting in a 63 on Friday, Xander Shauffele has emerged as the only real threat to take the Tour Championship from Scottie Scheffler, and the betting odds reflect just that.

“It would be better to be two shots ahead. But yeah, it’s just kind of head down. There’s a lot of golf to be played on this property,” said Schauffele, who was eight shots behind Scheffler through three holes on Friday via Golf Channel. “He’s doing all the right things. He’s playing very solid, not making any mistakes; when he is out of position, putting it in a good spot for his short game, making good putts. He’s going to be a tough guy to beat.”

Even with Xander Shaffele lurking, Scottie Scheffler is confident he can finish the job.

“I think it’s a position I’m comfortable in. I like being in positions where I’m able to win tournaments, and it’s something I’ve grown more comfortable with over time,” Scheffler said. “I played well with the lead at the Masters this year, and that was definitely a lot of pressure. This week is definitely a good amount of pressure, as well.”
