Sports Betting Analyst Kelly Stewart Responds To Being Fired From ESPN For Gay Slur Tweets

After announcing that she would be joining the ESPN cast of Daily Wager just four weeks ago on her Instagram, Kelly Stewart (@KellyinVegas) has already been fired for gay slur tweets from 2012. Stewart posted a long message on her social media platforms Friday night to respond to the firing.

Stewart was fired by ESPN because of gay slur tweets from 2012 that she says she long deleted. She also acknowledged that “While I regret the language I tweeted over a decade ago, I don’t regret standing up for myself against vile, threatening, and misogynistic attacks from men who were threatened by a woman daring to attempt to make a living in the overwhelming male sports gambling industry.”

She went on to add that “I’m disappointed that ESPN allowed the same misogynistic trolls harassing me online a decade ago, to continue to impact my life a decade later.”

Here are some of the tweets that were dug up against Stewart:

She also reportedly had sent some tweets over the past year questioning COVID-19 lockdowns that ESPN apparently flagged.

I would assume she gets another chance to prove herself but a massive break like this from a major corporation is probably not going to just show up on her doorstep after her firing.
