Ex-NBA Player Nate Robinson Wants to Fight YouTuber Jake Paul (VIDEO)

YouTuber Jake Paul received major social media backlash after filming looting of a Scottsdale, Arizona mall during protests. One person who certainly took note of this is three-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Nate Robinson who called out Paul for a boxing match on May 28:

Robinson told TMZ Sports,

“I want all the smoke. I’m a top-tier athlete. You beating me would probably be the biggest accomplishment for your boxing career, or social media influencer – whatever. That’s your biggest claim to fame right now is knocking out Nate Robinson, so come do it. I’m putting my everything on the line for you. Let’s get it done. It’s that simple.”

Robinson claimed to have “no beef” with Jake Paul, but he’s tired of Paul calling out weaker opponents and he called him “a bully.” Paul has participated in a couple boxing matches with fellow YouTubers and has won both those bouts.

This recent incident with Jake Paul and the looting in Arizona certainly won’t lessen Robinson’s desire to fight the 23-year-old YouTube star with 20.1 million subscribers, so we will see if Robinson pushes even more to make this happen once the protests and riots settle down.

At 5-foot-9, the 35-year-old Robinson is a tremendous athlete who played both football and basketball at the University of Washington. He played 11 seasons in the NBA with the Knicks, Celtics, Thunder, Warriors, Bulls, Nuggets, Clippers and Pelicans from 2005-2016. Robinson is best known for winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest three times in 2006, 2009 and 2010. After his NBA career, Robinson played either overseas or in the NBA D-League (now G-League) up until 2018. We last saw Robinson participate in Ice Cube’s Big3 League as co-captain of Tri-State.

Early betting lines would likely have Robinson as a heavy favorite against Paul, especially if a high-profile boxer such as Mike Tyson or Floyd Mayweather helps him train, as he states is a possibility in the TMZ Sports video.
