Degen Bet Of The Day: Russia SuperLiga Futsal, Dynamo Samara v. Tyumen (Aug 5)

Played on an indoor basketball court-like surface, the stage set for the hybrid sport of sorts is in many ways similar to soccer but with some featured rules that are attributed to basketball (five players, indoor court, stopped clock).

That being said, we’ve got a Russian SuperLiga Futsal slate for Wednesday morning, with an ever-intriguing four vs. five-seed quarterfinal matchup between Tyumen (No. 4) and Dynamo Samara (No. 5).

Kicking off the action at 9 a.m. PST, Dynamo Samara comes in as a +210 moneyline underdog and getting a +0.5 on the spread at even money payout. On the other side of the coin lies Tyumen, a -135 to-win on the ML and a -0.5-point favorite (-140).

And to add to the already existent oddity of this endeavor, notice that you actually risk to gain more off of simply wagering on the to-win odds rather than risking the extra half-point to cover for less money of a reward. Much like other unexplainable truths that stand firm in Russia, I will leave that stone unturned.

Based on what we see in the standings, Tyumen is very much the deserving favorite in this playoff matchup and should more likely be favored by more on the betting lines. With a 14-8 record, Tyumen has 105 goals scored with 79 coming against them and three wins in their past five matches (along with one loss and one draw). Mind you, this all comes across only 24 matches played.

Dynamo Samara, on the other hand, is much further on the other side of the fence in regards to record and scoring. The five-seeded underdogs have played four more matches than their opponent (28 MP) yet have just scored 76 goals with a heavier 90 scored against. Adding insult to injury in that department, Samara have instead lost three of their past five matches and include a loss and a draw as well.

Clearly allowing far more goals in a much shorter span of matches, how that spread isn’t much loftier is beyond me (unless there are some underlying mob circumstances we’re not privy to), and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see the degen dollars come pouring into the fire to push those numbers further apart by the time match locks come Wednesday morning.

Get your popcorn ready and lock in that more favorable moneyline bet, unless the half-point of added responsibility is your idea of gambling parkour to burden in machismo fashion.

Pick:  Tyumen ML (-135)
