Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings: Check Out Where Chris Olave Ranks Following His First TD

New Orleans Saints receiverChris Olave has arrived.

After being selected in the first round by New Orleans, Olave is expected to make an immediate impact in the Saints’ receiver room. And sure enough, he’s already showing why he was so coveted coming out of Ohio State.

Last night, Olave notched his first TD of the preseason when backup quarterback Ian Book found him in the corner of the end zone.

Chris Olave Fantasy Football Ranking

With his first season upon us, many fantasy football drafters are wondering where they should be snagging Chris Olave.

Per our projections at Stoktastic, Olave is the 65th ranked wide receiver in a regular PPR league coming into the season. He’s our 181st ranked overall player in a fantasy draft.

Earlier in the offseason, Saints starting quarterback Jameis Winston had high praise for Chris Olave.

“(He’s) smooth as the other side of the pillow,” Winston said via ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. “Just real smooth. He can get in and out of breaks very well. Electric, and smart, man. He’s a guy that’s always asking questions. He’s a guy that wants to know how you want it, and I really respect that.”

As it stands, Chris Olave is listed as the third wide receiver on the Saints’ depth chart per ESPN, behind Michael Thomas and newly-acquired Jarvis Landry. But he’s expected to be an integral part of the team’s offense as the year progresses.

For now, though, the Saints are just trying to get Olave comfortable in an NFL system.

“We felt in the draft, [Olave] a smart kid. Come in and play a couple of different positions, possibly right now. We’ll try to keep it limited as he’s learning the offense to maybe a spot, but you can see that he’s intelligent and just has a real feel for the game,” offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. said.

It’s probably worth a late round chance on Chris Olave in fantasy football drafts. But we wouldn’t expect him to be a starter in leagues for the time being.
