Serena Williams US Open Betting Odds Shifting in What Could Be Finals Singles Match Since Announcing Retirement

Serena Williams is looking to win one more.

Serena Williams announced in Vogue earlier this month that she will be retiring from tennis following the US Open. Serena has 27 years of professional Tennis under her belt, and has won 23 singles majors, 14 in doubles majors, two more in mixed doubles, and, for good measure four Olympic gold medals. That’s one hell of career. But Serena is not done quite yet.

The Tennis legend is all to compete in the US Open.  At one point Serena was as low as 16/1 to win the US Open, but since her retirement announcement she’s now residing at 50/1 to  win the historic tournament.

Serena is currently second in tickets, only behind Iga Swiatek.

Serena will open the tournament’s Monday night session against 80th-ranked Danka Kovinic of Montenegro.

There are 63 other matches on opening day, but we know which one will have all the attention as Serena Williams prepares to play what could be her final singles match.

Ahead of the tournament, #1 seed Iga Swiatek posted a photograph of her with Serena on her social media accounts:

“This is the highlight of my day,” Swiatek wrote on Twitter. “Congratulations on your amazing journey and legendary career @serenawilliams. Huge respect for everything you have done for our sport.”

Win or lose tonight against Danka Kovinic, Serena is also entered in the women’s doubles with her older sister Venus Williams.
