For a while now, Brittney Griner’s wife, Cherelle, has been voicing her displeasure with the US governments efforts to bring the star basketball player home.

But now, she appears to be changing her tune.

Following a phone call with president Biden and VP Kamala Harris, Cherelle Griner seemed a little but more encouraged that the National government is doing everything in their power to bring her wife home.

“I am grateful to the both of them for the time they spent with me and for the commitment they expressed to getting BG home,” she said of Biden and Kamala Harris.

Earlier in the week, it was revealed that Brittney Griner had written a letter to Joe Biden from her Russian prison pleading with the president to do everything in his power to get her back ASAP.

“As I sit here in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympic jersey or any accomplishments, I’m terrified I might be here forever,” Griner said in an excerpt from the letter shared by her representatives.

She continued: “I realize you are dealing with so much, but please don’t forget about me and the other American detainees. Please do all you can to bring us home.”

The White House had said that Joe Biden read the letter, and now Cherelle Griner appears to be on board with the plan.

Hopefully this means we’re closer to a return for Brittney Griner.
