Earlier in the week it was reported that Pelicans center Zion Williamson would be shut down as he continues to battle a surgically-repaired right foot.

“After experiencing persistent soreness in his right foot, Zion Williamson underwent medical imaging which showed a regression in the bone healing of his fifth metatarsal,” the Pelicans said in a statement, per ESPN.

Zion Williamson has been constantly ridiculed for being overweight. And when it was announced that he would now have to be shut down, a Pelicans reporter pointed to the fact that he had been missing rehab sessions and falling asleep during film as a reason why he’s in this position.

Zion Williamson had been cleared last month to resume basketball activities. But after another setback, he’ll go right back into the dreaded rehab.

For now, it looks like there’s no clear plan to get Zion back on the court in the near future. And once again, it’s becoming more and more evident that he needs to make legitimate lifestyle changes before he can reach his full potential.
