Will Antonio Brown Play In The Super Bowl?

According to a report, the animosity between Antonio Brown and the Buccaneers started long before his tantrum during the Jets game Sunday

The Buccaneers will hold their first practice session of Super Bowl week on Wednesday. The status of wide receiver Antonio Brown remains to be something to keep an eye on. Brown did not play in the NFC Championship Game because of a knee injury and did not practice at all last week. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Brown is expected to be a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice.  He participated in a Tuesday walkthrough, but Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said he was “not ready to go.”

So will Antonio Brown compete in the Super Bowl? His status is still up in the air, but he seems to be making strides in the right direction.

Brown didn’t make his first appearance with the Buccaneers until Week 9, but he has made a significant impact over the past few months. His absence would be a big missing piece in the Bucs offense should he not be able to go in time for the Super Bowl. But this Bucs team is full of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. This is a team that was able to outlast the number one offense in the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship without Antonio Brown playing.

Tampa Bay still has other options in the passing attack even if Brown is unavailable, including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rob Gronkowski. Scotty Miller is also coming off a big performance in the NFC championship game. Antonio Brown was held to just one catch in his only other Super Bowl appearance, so he hopes to have a bigger impact in Super Bowl LV if available.

Look out for more status updates on Antonio Brown as the Bucs continue to prepare for the Super Bowl this week.
