Four-time NBA All-Star Rasheed Wallace took to Instagram to express how he no longer supports the team that he won a NBA Championship with in 2004, the Detroit Pistons.
Wallace, who spent six of his 16 NBA seasons with the Pistons, addressed the question as to why he no longer supports the team.
Wallace writes in response to why he doesn’t support the Pistons,
“The organization isn’t being ran right… need new owners and management.”
This post is coming from the @bonzisheedtech account which is the account for Rasheed Wallace and former “Jail Blazers” teammate Bonzi Wells’ podcast together called “Let’s Get Technical” so you’re welcome if you are just finding out about this podcast.

Wallace had his best statistical seasons with the Blazers who he played seven and a half seasons for, but may be better known for his time with the Pistons as he helped lead them to the 2004 NBA Championship. Wallace briefly served as a Pistons assistant following his career in 2013-14, but was not hired when new coach Stan Van Gundy was brought on so unless he felt wronged somehow for not being rehired as an assistant, it’s pretty uncommon for a player to disassociate from a team which he had so much success with for their poor play/management in recent seasons.
With that said, the Pistons have been absolute trash for some time now. They haven’t won 45+ games in a season since 2007-08 and also haven’t won a playoff game since that season. Not a single one. Their three appearances during that span have resulted in 12 straight losses.
The Pistons are trying to bring about some change as Dwayne Casey enters his second season as head coach and Troy Weaver is the newly minted GM. The team is still a ways a way from relevancy it seems, but maybe ‘Sheed will jump back on the bandwagon if they show some improvement when they return to play sometime in 2021.
