On Tuesday morning, it was announced that Russell Wilson has been traded from the Seahawks to the Broncos in one of the biggest bombshell deals of all-time.

In the end, it was reported that the Washington Commanders were the only other team pushing hard for a Russell Wilson trade prior to the Broncos beating them to the punch.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Commanders were willing to give Seattle high picks for the next three drafts in order to land Wilson.

In the end, it took Denver sending Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive end Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth round pick to Seattle in order to reel in Russell Wilson.

It’s also likely (as Breer mentioned) that Seattle wanted to trade Wilson away from the team, and it’s possible that Russ wouldn’t have waived his no-trade clause to move to the East Coast.

So in the end, the Broncos were there to swoop up Russell Wilson, and this has to be an incredible feeling for their entire fan base and everytone within the Broncos organization.
