The punch heard round the world.

Last week NBA fans got a little offseason excitement after a video of Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole surfaced shortly after we learned the two men had been involved in an “altercation” that the team initially tried to downplay, but we knew the video would eventually get leaked, and of course it showed what exactly went down. Steve Kerr was way more upset with the fact that the clip was leaked in the first place than the fact that one of his players hit his own teammate. Green apologized for the incident over the weekend, and didn’t participate in Sunday’s preseason matchup between the Lakers and Golden State.

Poole made it clear he wasn’t too affected by the punch.

Today we got a more clear picture how everyone is handling things following the punch.  On today’s Locked on NBA podcast, longtime sportswriter Cyrus Saatsaz address the current state of the franchise and provided a fairly troubling update.

“I’ve had sources tell me that behind the scenes, Jordan Poole has not forgiven Draymond. They haven’t spoken, and he’s not happy.

I don’t know how you could be. It’s a horrible look. The image of it is awful. It’s borderline emasculating…I rarely say ‘I don’t know’ when it comes to the Warriors; I don’t know what’s going to happen here.”

There is no doubt this team is more than equipped to handle this kind of incident. Sometimes these things can galvanize championship teams.
