With the start of the NBA playoffs today, the race for the “Bubble” championship will heat up. In the aftermath of the Warriors break up, many teams have a legit shot to win the title this season. Two of the biggest contenders include the Lakers and the Clippers, led by LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard.

Aftering an incredible championship run by Kawhi Leonard last season, his all-time rankings status has increased dramatically. Aftering leaving the Raptors for the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard teamed up with Paul George to form yet another “Super Team.”

With a loaded roster, a third championship for Kawhi Leonard could be within reach. If that happens, Vince Carter believes that will put Kawhi Leonard in the GOAT conversation.

Assuming the Clippers win, that would give Kawhi Leonard three championships with three different teams. It would also be a first title for two franchises (Clippers, Raptors). Also, in Leonard’s two championships, he defeated the LeBron James led Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors super team.

This season, Leonard would have to go through a stacked Western Conference as well as potentially Giannis Antetokounmpo in the NBA Finals. Arguably, that could be one of the most impressive playoff records ever. As of now, Kawhi Leonard is only 29-years old. Even if he does not win a title this season, he has plenty left in the tank to add to his accolades. Winning his third title would certainly expedite the process, but he is already on his way to that level.
