Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt chronicled his troubles with Southwest Airlines, which resulted in him getting kicked off the flight. The disagreement with a flight attendant occurred when his two-year-old son didn’t have a mask on.

Garbrandt posted a video on Instagram of the situation.

“F*** @southwestair got kicked off because my 2 year old son wouldn’t put his mask over his face. This coward flight attendant hid his b**** a** in the bathroom,” he said on Instagram.

Garbrandt would also condemn the airline for allowing their pilot to go mask-less, while his young child was forced to put one on or leave the flight.

“Kicking a two year old off a plane ride but your captains aren’t wearing their masks, while we all are full capacity sharing the same air! What a joke @southwestair”.

A Southwest spokesperson spoke on the Cody Garbrandt situation.

“We regret this family experienced any inconvenience during their travel. However, federal law requires Southwest to ensure every person age 2 and over to wear a mask at all times throughout a flight, including during boarding and deplaning. In this situation, the customers opted not to fly on Southwest, and they were offered a full refund of their tickets, Southwest said via MMA Junkie.

Cody Garbrandt’s last fight was a TKO win over Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250 last June. Prior to that fight, he had endured a three fight losing streak. Garbrandt was scheduled to face UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 255, but the fight had to be postponed after Cody Garbrandt tested positive for COVID.

Hopefully we’ll see him back in the octagon soon.
