UEFA Hands Jose Mourinho One-Game Ban And Tottenham Ordered To Pay Fine For Deliberate Late Kick-Off

Jose Mourinho have gotten himself in some hot waters yet. The Portuguese has been handed a one-match European touchline suspension, UEFA have reportedly announced.

The Tottenham manager was deemed to be responsible for the late kick-off of their Europa League match against Royal Antwerp on October 29, a game they went on to lose 1-0.

That means we aren’t seeing some Mou madness when Spurs and Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets do battle in their next European game after the internationals.

In addition, Tottenham will have to pay a sum in the region of £23,000 for the fiasco by Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body (CEDB), as well as a further £2,700 for a breach of UEFA’s equipment regulations.

This doesn’t look pretty well now for Mou and Spurs. Not after the brilliant start to the season they’ve had. But what’s all the fuss? Before now, I must admit I ain’t aware a thing such like this would incur a ban. And a fine.

I’m not particularly sure either what part Tottenham or Mourinho might have played but UEFA does, and have the final word there. Whether it is right or not is still in the melting pot.
