Twitter verification, denied! Twitter isn’t about to hand out blue checkmarks like their candy, just ask former NFL player Alan Page, who apparently isn’t notable enough for its legendary blue check mark. The Minnesota Vikings legend applied for the blue check mark only to get denied.

The 76-year-old says he still got this message when he applied for verification on Twitter:

Twitter’s message:

“This account will not be verified at this time because the evidence provided did not meet our criteria for notability. As a result, we could not reliably verify that the account associated with the request is a notable person, organization, or brand.”

Twitter algorithms strike again.

It would be nice if a human would be the one to determine the blue check status, but they probably have too many applicants to deal with..

Sorry Alan, tough break.
