The mass confusion seemed to be running astray, and with some evident absent-mindedness to the situation considering who exactly that Bumgarner’s opponents happened to be.

Anyone paying attention to baseball leading up to this season assuredly would be aware of the fact that whenever it was that the league returned (which it has), pitchers were going to be putting Astros players between their bulls-eyes.

I think the more stand-out nature of the fact that he nailed the same batter on two separate occasions would be a slight nudge in the direction of intentionality.
