Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has been away from the MLB for several weeks after a California woman has accused him of sexual abuse on multiple occasions.

This week, the unidentified accuser appeared in court to seek a five-year restraining order from Bauer. When asked why she was seeking the order, the woman explained that she wasn’t sure that he would be arrested, and was in fear.

“I lost my job, I lost my place of residence, I had to take a leave from my other job,” the accuser replied via Sports Illustrated. “It’s still hard to fall asleep. … I’ve lost over 10 pounds. And just the sadness I had to live every day, and the fear I have of Trevor Bauer, it’s brutal.”

When the accuser was cross-examined by Trevor Bauer’s attorney, Shawn Holley, her tone reportedly changed. She admitted to having a relationship with Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr.

She also began crying when asked about signing an NDA, and agreeing with Bauer that there would be no “feelings” involved in their relationship.

This isn’t the first time Trevor Bauer has been accused of sexual abuse. According to a report, an Ohio woman filed for a restraining order from Bauer in June of 2020, claiming that she was also punched and choked during consensual sex.

She would later drop her suit.

“What started out as our client’s attempt to protect herself—first by filing a protective order—turned into months of additional fear, stress and continuous threats,” Darwal and Kendra Barkoff Lamy, a spokeswoman for the woman, said in a statement to The Post. “Ultimately, our client made the decision that moving forward with any legal action was not worth the potential public shaming and baseless lawsuits threatened by Bauer’s team. She never wanted any of this public.”

It appears that the Trevor Bauer lawsuit will be a long process. I wouldn’t expect him back in the MLB for a while.
