Pittsburgh Steelers pass rusher TJ Watt is coming off a historic season.

During the Week 18 game against the Ravens, the Steelers were on the brink of elimination. But that wasn’t the only thing on Watt’s mind: he was vying to break Michael Strahan’s record for sacks in a single season. All TJ needed was two sacks to break the record.

Throughout the first half of the game, Watt was involved in some sacks of Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley, but he wasn’t sure if was credited for what he needed to pass Strahan.

Even though it’s not technically allowed by the NFL, TJ Watt checked his phone during halftime to see if he had broken the record.

According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, TJ Watt put himself in position to get fined by the league with his admission on the “Dan Patrick Show”.

TJ Watt ended up finishing the season in a deadlock with Michael Strahan for the NFL record. However, he had an extra week in the season to get his done.

Watt continued his dominance when he scored the first touchdown of the game against the Chiefs in the Super Wild Card Round of the playoffs. But unfortunately for Pittsburgh, it was pretty much the only highlight the team had before the Chiefs ran away with the game.

Nevertheless, the Steelers can feel good about the future of their defense as long as TJ Watt remains in the fold to torment quarterbacks on a weekly basis.
