The entire baseball community is amazed that White Sox manager Tony La Russa had no problems with the Twins throwing behind designated hitter Yermin Mercedes on Tuesday night. The message came after Mercedes hit a home run the night before on a 3-0 pitch while facing a position player.

After many people took issue with La Russa not standing up for his player, Sox shortstop Tim Anderson took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter.

“Don’t see and don’t hear… keep pushing,” Anderson said on his Twitter.

Fans reacted to Anderson’s subtle dig at his 76-year old manager by saying La Russa should be fired.

The Chicago White Sox appear to have an incredibly interesting dynamic going on between the players and Tony La Russa. The old manager is going to continue to shake his fist at the sky, and the players are just going to continue to play the game how they play despite anything he says.

Is it possible to win when there’s such a clear disconnect between the manager and his players? Probably, but you’d think that the whole situation should have been avoided if the White Sox could have just hired someone who fit with their locker room.
