The previous record holder was Julius Boros who won the 1968 PGA Championship at 48 years, 4 months and 18 days old.

Mickelson won the PGA tournament shooting a +1 on Sunday to take home the victory with a total score of -6 for the tournament, which was two strokes better than Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka.

After Phil’s victory on Sunday, Tiger Woods tweeted this out to his fellow competitor.

One has to expect that Tiger is feeling a little jealous and frustrated after his recent accident which has muddied his golf future. Everyone expected and still expects Tiger to break all of the records, including the oldest major. Woods’ last Major Victory came at the 2019 Masters when he was 43 years old.
