The New England Patriots Look Like They’re Making Their Move On Justin Fields

The New England Patriots have been searching for their next franchise quarterback ever since Tom Brady took his talents to Tampa. They settled on Cam Newton last year, and re-signed the vetrean Newton for the 2021 season. But no one really expects that New England will hang on to Cam as their long-term guy.

That’s where Justin Fields might be an option.

The Ohio State product has been rumored to be falling down the draft board. While the Jaguars are set on Trevor Lawrence (with good reason), the Jets will likely take Zach Wilson. The 49ers reportedly have their sights set on Mac Jones or Trey Lance.

The Patriots have the 15th pick in the draft, but NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. says he would be very surprised if they don’t trade up for a QB.

According to insider Tom Pelissero, the Patriots have been making moves to trade up for Justin Fields, being as every other top team appears to be passing on the athletic QB.

Justin Fields to the Patriots would make sense. He’d learn under Cam Newton (who plays a similar style) and would have time to grow into Josh McDaniels’ system.

Don’t be surprised at all if Bill Belichick and the Patriots find a way to land Justin Fields on Thursday.
